What is a Street Pastor?

As Christians, we are proud of the fact that we follow Jesus, and remember that he spent the vast majority of his time among people on the streets – listening to them, caring for them, healing their hurts, and loving them without pre-conditions. As Street Pastors we seek to continue that caring ministry to people regardless of their background or condition. Truro Street Pastors have now been operating each Saturday for well over two years. Teams of pastors are on the streets each Saturday night from 10.00pm until 4.00am ready to help anyone who needs it. Sometimes, its just a conversation, sometimes a space blanket or a pair of flip-flops for those on the journey home; sometimes a Street Pastor will stay with a person until they can be collected or travel home safely. And behind every team of Street Pastors there is a vital team of Prayer Pastors. We believe that our city streets can be

transformed by the presence of Christians ready to serve and the prayers of people ready to support them. At Truro Tresillian we feel privileged to be able to support and resource this work. This is front-line city-centre ministry, and the Kingdom is growing in the city and in individual lives because of it.
