The Big Lunch The Big Lunch is a simple idea from the Eden Project - encouraging as many people as possible to have lunch with their community once a year, on or around the first weekend in June. This year that coincides with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
After our morning service on Sunday June 3rd we will be laying up the tables on the church forecourt and invite everyone to bring some food to share and join in the celebration!
If your surname begins with any letter between A and M would you bring something sweet, if between N and Z something savoury.
Also a small gift for the “Foodbank” would be appreciated.
Cutlery and crockery and drink will be available.
If you could volunteer to help with making teas and coffees to be served out of Sambell’s
could you sign a notice on Sambell’s board please?
CELEBRATE THE QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE at Threemilestone Chapel on Monday 4th June, 12 noon till 4.00 p.m. There will be food, drinks, barbecue, games for all, face painting, bouncy castle for the young, live entertainment, fancy dress for those who would like to come in 50's dress. And at the end a tree will be planted to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
This will be a good witness to the village so please do come and enjoy the celebration.
A note from Mark: Ordination Service – July 1st 2012 TMC
We have been asked to host an Ordination Service here at Truro in the afternoon of Sunday July 1st, during the Methodist Conference this year. This is a tremendous privilege for any church and we must make sure that it is a memorable occasion for all the Ordinands, families and guests when the time comes.
It is likely that the church will be full and although admission is FREE, it is essential that you have a ticket if you want to be at the service. You will not be able to gain access without a valid ticket. The church is automatically allocated some tickets for those stewarding etc, but if you know that you want to be there (and you ‘will’ want to be there) you are encouraged to order personal tickets online at www.methodistconference.org.uk/ordinations/tickets or via the Methodist Church House helpdesk number 0207 4865502. I have already tried the system and it seems very smooth. It appears that any one person can order up to 4 tickets.
July 1st seems a long way off, but please do not delay in responding to this notice. Sometimes, tickets for ordination services are taken up very quickly.
The Junior Choir are going to be performing a special Olympic games musical on July 15th. Click HERE for more details
