Thought for the Week
So the question is, ‘How much can you fit it?’
It’s a real question just at the moment for two very good reasons.
REASON 1: How much can you fit in a suitcase if you are going to Mozambique and you want to take enough clothes for yourself but everything you possibly can for the children?
REASON 2: How much can you fit into a day if you are not going to Mozambique but you want to have a bit of a holiday and need to get things done before you start?
The answer in both instances, in case you are interested is ‘Not enough’!
When answering the question ‘How long do you pray each day?’ it is said that John Wesley replied, ‘I pray for one hour every day – unless it is a really busy day. On those days, I pray for two hours”
Now, I don’t know if the story is true, but it ‘feels’ true.
If God is going to his maximum through us, then we need to be wise enough to create the space to spend time with Him. ‘How much can I fit in?’ You know what Jesus would say to you if he heard you saying that don’t you? “Come with me to a quiet place, and get some rest” (Mark 6.31)
