Together in learning
For more than 2,000 years people have been intrigued, challenged and confronted by the person, teaching and work of a man called Jesus.
Some say that he was a gifted teacher. Others that he was a charismatic leader. And still others that he was an extraordinary healer. He was born in Bethlehem and some 33 years later was crucified on a Roman cross. Even following his
execution, Jesus’ story just would not fall silent. His tomb was found empty three days after all sorts of witnesses had seen him die and rumours began that Jesus had risen from the dead.
Millions of people have weighed up the evidence and concluded that the only sensible conclusion is that Jesus is the Son of God – and even claim to have a personal relationship with him today. Extraordinary claims, to be certain.
But can so many people over so many years have got it so very wrong?
At Truro Methodist church we’d like to invite to explore Jesus’ claims for yourself.
Perhaps you’ve never thought about Jesus before.
Perhaps you used to go to church when you were young.
Perhaps you go to church regularly still and would just like to have a fresh look at things.
Whoever you are – you are welcome to be part of our spring series ‘Christianity Explored’. The informal course explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him. You won't be asked to pray, sing or read aloud, and you can ask any questions you like. Or, if you prefer, you can just come along and listen.
The current successful course has finished so watch this space for the start of the next one and come along then. If you would like more information please drop an email to minister@truromethodist.org.uk You will be made very welcome.
